Frequently Asked Questions

How effective is intervention?

Arise® Intervention and Comprehensive Care is VERY effective. Research shows that family involvement significantly increases the chances of long-term recovery. In working with a family there is a 100% chance of improvement but it doesn’t always mean that your loved one gets into treatment right away. Here is what the research shows:

ARISE® Invitational Intervention® gets over 60% into treatment in 1 week; 83% in 3 weeks, 96% within 6 months.
ARISE® Comprehensive Care gets 61% healthy, problem substance & behavior free at 1 year, with the remaining 10% improved.

Does insurance cover intervention?

No. At this time insurance doesn’t cover intervention, but we work with your insurance provider when finding the best treatment for your loved ones. We also advocate for better pricing and work with you to understand the money you are spending to help your loved ones. Often times families are spending exorbitant amounts of money that can be fueling the addictive lifestyle.

I have heard that my loved one just needs to hit rock bottom. Shouldn’t I just let that happen?

Family intervening IS rock bottom for many that struggle with addiction. This is about keeping the family safe while being honest about what you are witnessing. Most times people use the term he/she just needs to hit their “rock bottom” in order to avoid confrontation or being honest with their loved one. Not addressing addiction can be dangerous for your loved one and the family.

When is the right time to start intervention?

The sooner the better. Because the ARISE® approach works with everyone right where they are, it can be started wherever you are in the struggle. This process is an evidence-based, best practice model that serves a number of issues that families encounter. It is recommended once you have awareness around an issue with any type of substance misuse, mental health, and other family difficulties, action should be taken.

We don’t live near you. Can you still help us?

YES. Although I reside in the Texas Hill Country, I travel all over to help families just like yours. The initial meeting(s) can and most often occur in person. Subsequent meetings can be offered on a secure video conferencing platform. *Travel expenses apply and will be invoiced.
